what do you think???

So I've been spending TONS of time researching everything baby and it is soooo confusing! I'm not sure if I even need the item and if so what one is the best price, how safe, looks the best etc. So, here are some items that i'm still up in the air about, let me know if you have any suggestions on if they are worth purchasing. Also let me know of any item that was a must have.

Everyone is saying get the video monitor, my concern is i'll be watching it all day instead of doing anything else! video or no video and what one doesn't have a lot of static or will be picked up my my neighbors reception?

Willie really wants him to sleep in our bed the first couple of months, i know there are pros and cons, has anyone tried this?

how often will i use this? do the cheap ones do the trick?

I see that everyone has a Bumbo! they look great, I tried registering for one and they are totally out. If anyone has one they want to sell let me know!

Will he use this? How often?
if so is the cheap one just as good?

I have a bumbo you can use, I saw them the other day at once upon a child if you want to buy one. I wouldn't suggest putting him in bed with you...unless its a king and you guys don't move much, I put Avree in the bassinet right next to my bed and she slept on one of those bean beds, I have a pack-n-play and the only time I use it is when we go to Vernon, (I just leave it up there) But it is nice to have. I don't use a video/sound thing bc we can hear her just fine throughout our house, You will prob be able to hear him in yours, The bouncy chair is nice I got one for my shower, I would give it to you but it's pink.. We purchased a swing with the gift cards we had and I like it alot more then a bouncy seat, and Avree loves it. she still sits in it at least once a day, I don't use the bouncy seat any more so instead of a bouncy chair I would get a swing. Sorry so long! Hope it helps, I did the same thing before I had Avree and I asked a bunch of people but everyone used and liked different things so I kind of just tried different things until I found what I liked best.

well do i count! I say no to the monitor, your natural motherly instincts you have, you yourself will want to check on him, and you won't be that far away from him, i never had one of those chairs and i think its better for them to learn on there own to sit up, but crawling needs to come first, the bouncer are nice just because when your in the kitchen or doing things its always nice to have something to lay them in while you are busy.. pack and play are nice when you go places and out of town. Well for sleeping with you maybe when your taking little naps Willie, but he should get use to being in a bed or it could be hard on you later when he won't want to be in his bed!! sorry that i have to be your first response!! ha btw I like my hair color thanks!!

These are great questions, I am glad you are figuring all these out, that way you can just tell me what I'll need. Good luck! I'd try calling Elizabeth or Tarrah, they always have good advice and things they wish they would have done differently.

it's so overwhelming, but so fun! Definately get a pack n' play, bumbo, bouncer and baby moniter. I never did have one with the video. I'm sure it's nice, but I think they must have been WAY too pricey back when Taylor was born. We've just used the same one since her and it works well. I think it's a Graco one?! I don't even know. I got my bumbo online before they were in stores, as far I as know anyway. Eventually you will probably want an exersaucer too. They are so great for when they are like 5 months and up. Your baby shower is going to be so fun! I'm so excited for you! Oh, and I nurse my babies in bed at night and sometimes would just fall asleep so they ended up staying there all night while they were really little. But I like having the pack n' play in my room and put them in there as much as I can or feel like it so we have more room sometimes. You'll figure it out as you go.

Yes get the cheap packnplay, ethan hates his, so I only use it when we have to go somewhere and have his sleep in it. I have loved having Ethan sleep in his crib from the start. We tried having him in bed, but I was a nervous wreck. You'll find out once you have the baby, what's best for you. :) LOVE YA!

YES to all of these, well maybe not the sleeper that you would put in your bed. I don't think you will keep him there long. Go with the cheaper ones but not to cheap.

Do not get the video montitor its a waste of money.. All those monitors are.. You can hear the baby cry so there pretty useless and a waste of $. As for the bumbo i love mine.. Its great! and i think every mom should get a bouncer seat(last pic) there amazing and i would put her it and she loved it. especially with baby einstein!

Hi Cami I would do the bumbo because in this day and age they spend so much time on their back [sleeping, car seats, swing, bouncer] that they like to be able to sit up and see the world. Many kids this day can have misshappen heads from all the time on there backs. He'll learn how to sit up on his own when he is old enough. The bumbo just gives a place to be off his back when he is littler.
Good luck--it can be overwhelming but you and Will will do just fine. The first one is always the 'guienea pig"!!

HI, YOU ARE PROBLY WONDERING WHO I AM, BUT MY NAME IS HOLLI BESSE ANDI AM SANDY WILLIAMS NIECE AND HER AND CHRIS ARE SUPER GOOD FRIENDS.
ANYWAY I CAME ACROSS YOUR BLOG THROUGH MALISSA CORDOVA, (SHE IS MY COUSIN) AND I AM ACUALLU EXPECING OUR FIRST BABY AS WELL AND I JUST WANTED TO COMMENT ABOUT THE BABY SLEEPING WITH YOU, I HAVE HEARD FROM FRIENDS WHO HAVE ALLOWED THAT AND REGRETED IT A TON, THEY SAID IT WAS HARD TO TRANSITION TO THE CRIB, THE BABY GOT USE TO SLEEPING WITH THE PARENTS.
MY HUSBAND AND I HAD THE SAME DISCUSSION AND WE DECIDED TO JUST USE A BASSINET, THAT A FRIEND LET US BORROW. THEY ARE WAY EXPENSIVE AND THEY ONLY USE IT FOR A FEW MONTHS. SO ANYWAY THAT IS WHAT I HAVE HEARD FROM LOTS OF PEOPLE.

WELL GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND WILL AND YOUR NEW BABY!! THE ROOM LOOKS SO CUTE!! GREAT JOB!!!

you don't know me, but i was looking at a friends blog and came across yours. I just had a baby in January and I don't have a moniter. I never have thought it would e useful. You can hear the baby cry from anywhere in the house. We bought a pack and play and use it for the bassinet, so it sits next to our bed. Love it!! I also love the bouncy chair. We move that thing from room to room. Just a little something for you to think about from someone you don't know. Thanks
